Number
- Number theory - negative and special numbers
- Operations with number - add, subtract, multiply, divide and order of operations
- Patterns and relationships
- Fractions, decimals and percentages
In addition to tackling a more challenging array of questions, Year 7 students recognise that numbers can be positive or negative, apply the rules for the order of operations, add and subtract decimals in real-life contexts and learn to use a Cartesian plane. Greater ability to think about the practical application of mathematical rules enables students to understand and represent data in more sophisticated ways.

Dr Samuels and her Education team developed Cluey's unique CENTRE approach, and have created interactive learning programs that map to the curriculum and allow students to work at their own level and pace.
Cluey's Intermediate Mathematics learning programmes are based on the New Zealand Curriculum for K-6 and focus on core numeracy skills, including times tables in the early years, and fractions, decimals, percentages, angles and simple algebra in the senior years. Our personalised approach gives your child the opportunity to slow down in the areas they find challenging to ensure they ‘get it’.
Our tutors are all qualified teachers, exceptional NCEA achievers or experts in their respective fields.

“I engaged Cluey to give my daughter the edge. She was already a great maths student but she wanted to be better and there were questions in tests that were not answered in her classroom putting her at a disadvantage. My daughter gets alot of enjoyment out of the cluey sessions and they have made a huge difference. My daughter loves maths and wants to pursue it as a career option so Cluey has been the perfect fit for her.”
